We love working with our clients and are proud of all their success. 2020 was busy and fruitful for each of them! Here are five notable examples of client achievements from this year:
Chris Fernandez, Sam Rusk, and Nick Glattard, cofounders of EnsoData, were named to the 2021 Forbes 30 Under 30 list in the healthcare category. In 2017, the company’s first product received FDA clearance, and uses AI to diagnose medical conditions. Ensosleep not only automates event detection in sleep studies (with 90% accuracy), but it also produces information for medical staff conducting the studies to review within minutes. It targets sleep apnea specifically, and is now utilized to examine the data from sleep studies in over 400 US clinics. More than 14,000 patients per month benefit from the EnsoData device.
AirDeck, Inc, a SaaS platform that assists in producing narrated documents and presentations to be viewed on-demand, raised $3.4 million in venture capital funding. The investment will be used to further innovate this SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) cloud platform, as well as grow the sales and marketing teams. AirDeck makes users’ projects more engaging and effective at delivering their message through narration and added video content. The company Founder and CEO Jason Weaver stated, “AirDeck has seen tremendous growth since launching the company this year. It’s amazing to see immediate customer adoption within a variety of industries.”
SimpleMachines, Inc (SMI) released a future-proof, first-of-its-kind, high performance chip perfect for ever-evolving and soon-to-be ubiquitous AI software. The new product is a disruptor in its space, blowing past the boundaries of usual chip abilities and running multiple workloads all at once, faster than any competitor component on the market. Mozart, the name of SMI’s new chip, is easy to program, was 10 years in the making, and uses high-bandwidth memory. The Founder, CEO, and CTO of SimpleMachines, Karu Sankaralingam, explained, “As fast, flexible computing becomes more accessible, AI will be used by more industries for more applications more frequently, so chip design must evolve accordingly. We are disrupting the next wave of computing with our breakthrough technology.”
Fiveable secured $2.3 million in funding to build an online social learning community meant to address socialization and motivation challenges for students. Expanding learning beyond the classroom has never been more important than this year, and the investment will benefit the current 1.5 million high school students using Fiveable and usher in even more users. The company has a student team of 800 “Founding Members” who give feedback about their experiences and, with others in the company, developed forums, focus groups, and brainstorming sessions to help fellow pupils. Launched just recently, “It’s fundamentally about building confidence in students, which can only come from a blend of content and community support,” Fiveable Founder and CEO Amanda DoAmaral shared.
COnovate and OnLume Surgical received 2020 Wisconsin Innovation Awards, while Pyran was a finalist. Over 380 companies throughout the state were nominated, and only 10 organizations from the list were chosen as finalists by a group of 30 Wisconsin industry experts. The winners were announced at a virtual awards ceremony on October 13, 2020.
COnovate has secured an exclusive royalty-bearing, worldwide license to develop and commercialize product(s) covered by the licensed patent in all fields of use. Batteries with the patented materials (which are based on abundant, non-toxic raw materials) demonstrate higher capacity and faster charge rates than graphite.
OnLume Surgical is a medical device company providing intuitive and ergonomic solutions for precise fluorescence image-guided surgery. This allows for excellent image quality with low fluorescent dye concentrations, and is compatible with a broad spectrum of targeted fluorescent drugs for applications across the gamut of surgical disciplines.
Pyran co-founders discovered a new pathway to make an oil-based chemical out of corn cobs, potentially changing paints used in our households, plastics to make our cars and other items, and nylon in our clothing. Pyran is currently the only company that can make the substance (1,5-PDO) at low costs and to make it from renewable resources.
Wow! We are so honored to work with these groundbreaking pioneers in their many diverse fields and areas of expertise, and can’t wait to see what the future holds!
